Observations by SPACE in INDIA

What is Venus Transit all about!
Venus Transit occurs when Venus passes directly in front of the Sun and this rare phenomenon is visible from earth. Venus appears as a small dot crossing the face of the Sun.

The transit occurs in a pair at a difference of eight years. For the millennium the first transit took place on June 8, 2004 and now we are fast approaching the second one on June 6, 2012. In one 243-year Venus Transit cycle there are two pairs spaced 121.58 years apart. The last Venus Transit (pair) occurred 129.5 years ago in 1874 and 1882. The next pair will occur 105.5 years from this one, in 2117 and 2125.

This is a rare once in a life time celestial event. Join SPACE to witness this singular event and participate with us in a multitude of observations and projects. Or register your observations and projects with us to make it known to all.
